Land, animals, people.
I live in Homer, Alaska where I’ve been farming for over 12 years with Blood Sweat & Food Farms, a farm dedicated to pasture-raised pork and poultry. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of local food and living a sustainable lifestyle, and I want to empower others to do the same.
Before coming to Alaska, I graduated with a degree in Environmental Science, where I was avid in pursuing knowledge about how our environment could be stewarded with both people and the ecological health in mind. Once I graduated, I worked at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, restoring a section of their headquarters in downtown Fort Worth, TX to native tallgrass prairie. Shortly after, I moved to Alaska!
As you can see, I not only KNOW about sustainability and local food, I’ve LIVED it!
